How to graph on the calculator

Step 1. Stat and then Edit.
Step 2.Clear L1 and L2. (use clear)
Step 3. If you use delete you have to use stat 5 set up editor
Step 4. Put in the data.
Step 5.Change the values in the window, x min = the smallest x, x max = biggest x, same goes for y.
Step 6. turn stat plot on and then press graph button

Welcome – Blogging Expectations

Applied Math 30S - Blogging Expectations 2009 – 2010


 

During this class you will be required to "scribe". Scribing means to make a record of what happens in the class that day. Once the initial couple of days are over, I will begin to have blog draw each day after the day's instructional session.


 

When it is your turn to scribe, your posting must include the following.

  • A description of the day's topic.
  • the page number if the text book is used
  • a description of the handout if the text is not used
  • key ideas
  • at least 1 sample problem with a solution.
  • homework assignment along with at least one completed homework question
  • if the day is a "work period" you must offer something useful to our class. This might be a sample problem, a link, or even a great idea or quote. It must be something of value to people.


 

At the end of the semester I will look to see if you have completed your assigned postings. I will select 3 – 5 postings, depending on total completed and mark those using the above criteria. This will count towards the assignment / project part of your final mark.


 

Your postings will be made to a blog site. It is my hope that students will be able to communicate throughout the semester hopefully learning something from each other in the process.


 

You are expected to not only post the days events when it is your turn, but also comment on any of the postings that are there. You may use this as a place where you can ask / answer questions to help you better prepare for the exam.


 

If needed, you may use the scanner to scan in handwritten solutions or notes and post in that manner.


 

I hope that this blogging experiment will be a valuable tool in learning the material that is presented. This is a new thing for me and so things may change throughout the year, but I believe that it will be a successful venture. Furthermore, I believe that more you put into it the more you will get out of it.
