tut 3-4

On Monday we learned more about using WinPlot to find a linear equation. We learned that when there is an intersect it means the slopes are different and there will be one solution. If the lines run parallel to each other it means that there is no solution and the slopes are the same with different y intercepts. We also learned that when the equations are multiplied, added, or subtracted, the equation stays the same. To find a solution without solving, change the x and y values to 1. If it comes out to 1=1 it is the solution. If the point on one line is different than the other it is not the solution.
